Legend Out Of Watpac ID10
19 February 2010
American-bred pacer Lonestar Legend is out of the 2010 Watpac Inter Dominion.
The Golden Mile winner was withdrawn from the series early this morning.
Trainer Paul Fitzpatrick said he was devastated at the news of losing his only representative in the series.
Lonestar Legend, one of the most high-profile horses ever imported into Australia, was billionaire owner Clive Palmer’s best of three chances he has in the Inter Dominion.
The others are Genuwine and Fox Valley Appeal.
With Lonestar Legend’s withdrawal, it paves the way for trainer Glenn Freeman to launch a two-pronged attack on the series.
Having already qualified Baltic Ice, Freeman will also have Mystical Warrior engaged in the Inter Dominion. He was originally named first emergency.
Mystical Warrior will start from barrier 8 under the conditions of the championship as he replaces Lonestar Legend which was originally drawn in that barrier.
Final scratching are at 3pm this afternoon.
